Cathy Wheat is a member of the National Drill Team Directors Hall of Fame. She was director of the Irving High School Toy Tigers for 10 years and founded the Highland Park High School Highland Belles in 1983 and served as director for 23 years. She was a member of the Kilgore Rangerettes and head of ADTS Instruction for 30 years. Cathy is also a Lifetime Member of DTDA and has conducted seminars on various subjects at the DTDA national convention. as well as the New Mexico State convention. Cathy has served as adjudicator at both local and state level contests. She has also published articles in The ADTS Line on various subjects. Her teams have consistently been ranked as one of the best in the country and have supplied multiple "All-Americans" every year. The Highland Belles are nationally known for their unique use of extraordinarily fast, synchronized movements in all dance categories. Their high kick routines combine extensive kick sequences with these same choreographed movements.
